As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in evaluating and improving our manufacturing processes. You will utilize your expertise in product design, fabrication, assembly, and tooling to enhance efficiency, ensure product quality, and support production teams. Your ability to interpret blueprints, program various manufacturing machines, and partner with Quality Inspection and Safety teams will be crucial in maintaining high standards and achieving operational excellence.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Evaluate Manufacturing Processes: Apply your knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials to assess and enhance our manufacturing processes.
- Develop Manufacturing Methods: Study product requirements; research, design, modify, and test manufacturing methods and equipment; collaborate with equipment vendors.
- Optimize Efficiency: Analyze and plan workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout to improve manufacturing efficiency.
- Ensure Quality: Design testing methods; test finished products and process capabilities; establish standards and confirm manufacturing processes.
- Support Production: Provide production support to manufacturing teams to ensure seamless operations.
- Interpret Blueprints: Analyze and interpret blueprints; program lasers, turret presses, and brake presses to meet specifications.
- Monitor Outputs: Continuously monitor production outputs to ensure specifications are met.
- Coordinate Production: Work closely with shop teams and supervisors to coordinate production activities.
- Evaluate Design Changes: Assess and approve design changes and specifications.
- Maintain Standards: Partner with Quality Inspection and Safety teams to ensure compliance with standards.
- Assist with Projects: Support additional projects as needed.
REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience
- BS/BA in a technical or manufacturing field
- 4 years of directly related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in reading technical specifications and blueprints
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes on machines such as brake presses, N/C turret punches, welding, laser, CNC milling centers, and CNC lathes
- Proficiency in Solid Works
Preferred Training
- Training in machine safety and quality awareness
Work Environment
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment
- Capability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
